Spine wont update to the latest version
Every time I try to start the software, it gives a message that the version 3.5.46 is available, I choose update, it downloads but starts the 3.5.43 again!
Are you using a third-party antivirus program by any chance?
People have recently been reporting having trouble launching/updating Spine because their antivirus thought Spine updates/downloads were a virus.

Yes actually, I will try disabling it.

So yeah the latest version is being blocked by Bitdefender, is there any hope of a fix? Kind of pain in the ass to disable the antivirus everytime I want to run Spine.
We've contacted 52 anti-virus companies, including Bitdefender to whitelist Spine. Haven't heard back from Bitdefender yet.

It's an insane number! maybe it would be a good idea to put a warning in the download page about this problem so that people won't keep asking over and over?
That's a great idea!

Well booo! I did put the folder for spine in the exclusion section of bitdefener so I guess that is one way of solving this. And yeah putting a warning somewhere so people know could be very useful!
Hey there, I did the exclusions thing in the bitdefender but still having the same problem, the sofware starts perfeclty if I shut down bitdefender. Can you guys give me a hand?
Hrm, I googled how Bitdefender exclusion patterns work, and what you have should be fine. I'm afraid I don't know how to make Bitdefender play nice :/
