I'm doing a bunch of experiments on animation techniques and spine has been a bliss for this!
In one of those experiments I made my character out of curves in spine. I then created a rig for the curves and
animated the curves. Everything worked really well and was working perfectly.

But, there is no way of rendering or exporting the curves into a GIF or anything else.
It would be nice if this will be there at some point (ability to render them).

Oh and there is also no animation ghosting for curves!

Here's what I made with it (Made a GIF by print screening every frame)

This is the Rig if anyone is interested:

I think some nice things could be achieved with this.
Even just sketching out an animation digitally 🙂 Made this in just an evening so it goes pretty quick this way.
Skinning curves is also a lot easier and faster than skinning a mesh 😛
Would also be nice to fill up the curves at some point.

I know it's pretty out there and not how spine is intended to be used 😃

Oh I get it! You didn't attach anything to the paths, did you?
I know that one can export an animation of the bones by selecting this option in the gif export but I guess this is not what you want. If you attach whatever you want to the paths you'll still get an interesting choreography of... things!
Nice experiment! If one could give a stroke/a fill to that path we'd have a new ToonBoom XD

I think this is super cool! I waited to say so until I could also say that we've implemented rendering paths (and bounding boxes) when exporting images and video. It's in 3.5.31. 🙂

You are so awesome! I think I don't say it enough. O:

I didn't attach anything to the paths indeed. It started as an accident 😃 I loved how you could rig/skin the handles of the beziers. I now have an experiment going with an image mesh to deform attached to bones attached to a path. It's pretty complicated but it's super cool.

A stroke / fill would be so cool too!

You are beyond awesome 😃 I noticed it in the last update and was so stoked about it 😃 You have no clue! <3

This looks so cool! Can't wait to try this out myself!
