These are great!

however, one of the main reasons I suggested this is to make them easier to see. We have rather large spine files, and to zoom out to see the full character, the icons get lost, just as they did with other bone.

It would be nice to have to option to change the icon size for a specific bone (maybe: normal, Large,Extra Large)

Change the overall bonescale, makes everything big, and then the skeleton is too crowded 🙁

We may still add a per bone icon scale, but the bone scale is intended to make the icons a reasonable size for higher or lower resolution. Can you show how it looks in your project when you use bone scale to get the icon size you want?

Dayum, you really want the icons so big? Select works using distance from the center of the bone, so they aren't easier to select just because they are bigger. Bone sizes look OK, but icons seem unreasonably big to me.

I guess the question is really: does it make sense to have multiple icon sizes? Why have some icons small and others large?

Bone sizes are ok, I agree with that, I was specifically talking about icons (bone length 0).

hmm, I was not aware of the the select bone position from centre of icon. Say if I need to place/animate a bone which would generate particles on an attack, current it is hard to see, without selecting the bone (because then the controls appear), The transforms of the bones, especially in a moving skeleton.

Visually seeing how an icon is moving is pretty difficult. (above I play the animation, then step through it)

These icons are so useful! I love them!
Just wondering why they got turned 90° and if I should really do any effort to turn them right (I guess it's because of the parent bone) but so far I'm really appreciating them (:
I feel like it would be awesome to make one's own but it's not so compelling. (like, I'm using random ones for specific parts like the character's belly, or stuff like that that I don't want to mix up and I feel useful to remember what they are)

I come with suggestions!

After using them for a while some nice icons to add would be:

  • a "don't touch this freaking bone or I'll kill you" icon, ( in other words, something like this🙂
  • an asterisk (because it's easier to guess the center of the bone and adds variety)
  • a star?
  • something like this for bones that just turn on themselves

  • a variation of the 4 arrow icon because, man, that's so intuitive to let people know they can drag around a bone, but then one has too many and it's nice to differentiate not only by color
  • a flower maybe? (with 4 petals like a clover? lol)
  • I randomly found a diamond while searching for a swirl, and yes, we do deserve diamonds to move around our precious luxury items, don't we?
    So we can go fully gansta blig bling in the editor and look humble outside.

This might make it to 7 icons and fill that empty hole you had in the icon tab. :heart:

How about a cross? So I can make my point across more easily! (sorry for that). And some kind of Arc? Like " ) " or half a circle, something like that? Would use it for my path/curve controls :clap:
