we could come up a way to mark those facets and set some conditions, for example, if a particular face is flipped, meaning now it is on the back side, the draw order would update automatically
This is actually a feature I would really like to have! It would be very useful if the draw order could be changed automatically based on certain conditions.
Let me first post the link to your previous thread here, since what I answered there is related to the draw order animation issue:

Personally, I think the workflow for creating 2.5D rotating objects and characters has a lot of potential for improvement without adding brand-new features. For example, in terms of what's on our roadmap, I think the saved selections enhancement would also be very useful for creating 2.5D rotations: EsotericSoftware/spine-editor409
Currently, only 10 selection groups can be stored on the numeric keys, and they fill up quickly. If more selections could be stored, it would make the process of selecting slots and changing the draw order more efficient.
We are also considering adding hotkeys that would change the drawing order of selected slots to first or last. This would also be useful for animations like spinning diamonds, if realized: EsotericSoftware/spine-editor653
I also think the inconvenience of the draw order is that it is hard to tell at first glance what the key is for. We have ideas to add feature name and value annotations and timeline markers, and I think once those are implemented it will be easier to see what each draw order key is for:

EsotericSoftware/spine-editor531
Once all these ideas are implemented, it would make the workflow easier to select slots that need to be reordered for rotation, change the draw order, and make it easier to reuse the draw order keys that were added for what they were added for later.
