spine 2d find and replace break order
Hi dear staff:
Has anyone seen this issue before? After using regular expression to mass update image names, all the sprite order gets distorted and have to be reordered, while manually changing each entry doesn't cause the issue. (see attacment for result)
Any solutions?
Thanks and cheers!
Hello, which version of Spine are you running?
In Spine 3.8.40 we fixed a bug where the draw order was messed up when opening Find and Replace
and then clicking Cancel
. Spine: Changelog: v3.8.40 beta
If you're on an earlier version than 3.8.40, then please update to the latest version. Should you be on the latest version (3.8.60) it will be great if you can provide us with steps to reproduce this behavior.
Sorry for the trouble!
I can confirm this is happening to me too, with the latest version of Spine installed.
My steps:
- I created a rightarm for my character, and duplicated it.
- I selected everything within the rightarm2 (the duplicated version) and went to search and replace.
- I clicked on Scope: Tree selection so it only affected my selection.
- Find: Right
Replace: Left - When I clicked replace, the orders all changed.
I've been changing the names manually without any issue.
Hope that helps!
I've not been able to reproduce this yet. I noticed that you have some filtering active. I wonder if this might need to be enabled for the bug to appear.
Are you able to reproduce using one of the example projects?
I am also experiencing this problem yesterday. I have a set of slot named Line-1 to Line 8. I just selected all the slots and batch rename them. The draw order get meshed up after rename. I end up renaming them one by one.
P.S. I didn't use the search panel, just select the slots and press F2 (my rename shortcut) to batch rename.
Hello! I was able to reproduce the problem and we are working on a fix, thanks for letting us know about it!
Hi dear staff!
Update: I can confirm that this is still happening as of the lates version of 3.8.61 professional.
Please let me know when this is fixed asap! This is giving our animators a lot of headahces

Update: It seems that currently after the replacement, all the image are placed in reverse alphabetical order. Might be something usefull to know for the dev~
Thanks and cheers!
Should have a release with the fix today!
Thanks! Our animator will test it out right now.
We are honored to report that the problem has been fixed as of version 3.8.63 pro.
