Hello! Perhaps yours could be a problem of constraint order: Constraints: Order

Maybe the order in the list present under the constraints node is preventing the constraint to work, try pressing the reset button on the constraint node to see if automatically resorting them fixes the problem!

Clicking Reset fixed it! Thank you so so much!! :grinteeth: :grinteeth: :grinteeth:

  • Hi everyone!

    I hope this makes sense.

So I want to create what is essentially a graph line with round edges, where the position of each point is determined by a path constraint. So, I have laid out a number of line meshes with two bones each, where the right bone of Line1 aligns with the left bone of Line2 etc etc. In total there are 4 meshes and 5 points.

I also want to preserve the roundness of the sides and the thickness of each line. I have achieved this by creating two IK constraints for each mesh so that their left and right bones are always looking at each other. This way the line can stretch as much as it wants without distorting. This works great when I am just dragging the bones around by hand:

Because I want each point to follow the path in a relative way, I created 5 other bones with path constraints and parented the appropriate Line bones so that they follow those bones. But when I manipulate the path constraints, the IK's refuse to follow the new bone positions:

It seems that the position the bones get from the constraint doesn't "count" towards the IK? Is there a way to fix it or perhaps another way to achieve something similar to what I want?

    Hope someone can help!
    Cheers

  • Hi everyone! First poster here.

The company I work for just released this cowboy-themed blackjack game that I've been doing all the art and animations for. It was a really fun challenge making everything work and look as 3D as possible!

Initially the plan was to have a fully working dealer that could pick up and move the cards, shuffle the deck, etc, but that proved to be a little too ambitious and there wasn't enough time. His arms and hands are still rigged but hidden underneath the table though! Oh well!

You can scroll through different chips to the left and when clicked he will throw that chip onto the table. Then just click the play button and the cards will come flying out.

(I hope it's okay to just dump a link to the game itself, I don't really have time to make lots of gifs right now.)

Of course I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have about any of the animations. 😃

    Cheers!
