  • import as skin?

I have a skeleton with 2 skins (male/female). I export these from photoshop using the included spine script. But when I go to "Import Data" into spine, I get 2 different skeletons instead of 2 skins. Manually positioning all my layers again is not an option for my complex art so I rely on that spine photoshop script. But I don't see a way to use it and skins. Am I out of luck?

Did you check the option called "Use groups as skins" when you exported from Photoshop?

oh I didn't see that option! I'll try it and report back.

ok cool that looks like it will work! Only question: if I want to add a new skin later is there a way to import another skin into an existing project? I ran the photoshop export again but the new skin doesn't show up in Spine. Do I have to start completely over to add a new skin?

Ahh I see! Thank you Shiu that's perfect. One question about it: for this to work do my skins all need to have the exact same slot names? I have a male zombie and a female zombie. They have the same skeleton but different slots. For example the girl has "boot", "skirt", and "earring" slots that the male doesn't have and vice versa. Are skins intended to be only for identical slot models?

Slots and Skin Placeholders are the same for each Skin in a skeleton. However a placeholder does not need to have an attachment on it.
I suggest using generic slot and placeholder names. For example instead of "earring" you could use "ear accessory".
