I read that Spine is for 2D animations, but is there any work being done on Spine3D? I'm just getting started and wonder if I can use Spine for a 3D juggling viewer I'm writing using Pixi.js / javascript.

We don't have any plans of extending Spine into a 3D editor, this would be a HUGE task and way beyond what our plans for it has been from the start.

Spine is 2d only, you can fake some depth using meshes but thats sort of it.

If you want a 3D version of spine i suggest checking out Maya, 3ds max, Blender or Softimage, though you'll have to model things in 3d in order to be able to animate them in 3d.

Hi,
I learn Spine for now some months and I've done some fine animations with it.
But I think there is a "3d" tool witch isn't something exceptional : a "Z"
A software like after effect can work in 2d or in 3D for transation, rotation and scale. I've just animated a small object and it took a long time to simulate a Zdepth with rotating as it is something very easy to do.

So well, it would really please me if this feature will be planed for future version of spine.
thanks

Like already mentioned this is not something we have planned and is unlikely to ever make it in.
