I made some animations with a character but it looks kind of blurry and low in quality now I want to replace it with High quality 4k images. Can I do it without disturbing the existing skeleton or animation data?

Different sized images can be used at runtime than were used in the editor. You don't need to change the size of the images you use in the editor, but if you want to then data import scale can be used:
