  • [Question] How to disable RMB click switching to last tool

Hello.
I find it very annoying, not intuitive and error-prone that right mouse button switches between tools.
I would like to disable such behavior.
Is there a way?

hi,

I'm afraid not. How come you find it to be such a problem? RMB toggles to the last selected tool, and RMB isn't used for much else than panning. Is it when panning the editor viewport you accidentally switch tools?

Yes, then I pan in 25% of times I switch a tool than I do not want it at all.
Some times I press and do not release and it is still switches tool.
Some times I press then drag and it still switches the tools.
The same happens in mesh editing tool than you press RMB button and try to pan it also switches modes.

That is maybe some kind of input problem with my mouse but however I did not experience it before in another programs.

That is not expected and very annoying than you want to make one thing and the program makes a different one.

Could you add an option to disable such behavior, please?
Should I post a feature request for it?

TextusGames, what OS are you on?

I am using Windows 10.

The problem is in my right mouse button's inconsistent input.

You already can use a keyboard short cut to switch the last tool in the file (Last tool: 'key_name").
But it does not disable right mouse behavior switching behavior.

So you just need to add an option to disable the last tool switch ( and tool cycling in mesh editor) on RMB click.

Thanks for creating an issue on Github.

Meanwhile, fix :
I started to use "X-mouse button" program to change mouse behavior. I remapped RMB press to press the "O" key and set "Move Pan: O" in the file ( then restart the spine editor). now then I press right mouse it is identical to pressing "O" key and it pans.

(Also I made so then I click middle button it clicks right instead and then I noticed that there are no accidental switches on panning, and every time I click without moving and release tools switch as expected. That proves that my RMB input is inconsistent)
