If I understand correctly, you're pointing out that it can be cumbersome to handle situations where key values need to be reset to their initial values in loop animations, correct?
Assuming this is the case, there are related items on our roadmap that may be relevant:
At present, when quick pose transitions are needed, it is often necessary to use Shift + Drag to compress the timing, as you described. While there are currently no plans to change this behavior directly, we have received feedback from other users that when keys are placed on fractional frames, box-selection inversion may not work correctly, which makes the workflow quite cumbersome.
We agree that this is problematic, and as noted in the issue, improvements have already been implemented in 4.3-beta.
That said, the need to reverse key order can arise in a variety of situations, so the second issue remains an area we intend to improve further. When reversing keys, selecting them with a box and dragging the edge to invert the order can be inefficient, particularly for longer animations. A feature that allows the order of keys within a selected range to be reversed with a single action would significantly improve usability.
